Dare To Be Different

Project Bible Day 71 Dare To Be Different

By Anthony Sicilia

I want to take this time in today’s message to address a few different topics. This isn’t your ruin of the mill post. I’m writing this message to stir some of you up and of course make sure your bones can come alive… How am I going to do that? I’m going to prove my readers under the following topics (Popular Culture)  (Lifestyle) (Scripture Seeds) In short ladies and gentlemen what I’m really doing  is checking your fruit as far as your stance as a Christian is concerned.pear The term Christian is thrown around an awful lot these and with the rising of each generation it’s kind hard to distinguish  where the real Christian’s are these days.  See being Christian is not about the crosses you wear around your neck or the shirt on your back. It goes much further than that.

2 Peter 3:1-2King James Version (KJV)

This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance:

That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour.:

So after some reflection time yesterday on Christian conformity I think it is best to draw a  line in the sand of our lives and figure out whether the ground we are standing on is of good soil or whether  your foundation through Christ is coming up lacking and your faith is sinking in  sand. So I write you this message to stir you up.  So much in this life people often talk  about the Christian world without seeking the wisdom of the Lord to give a definite answer to people who have questions.

(Popular Culture)  What is it???635351758663818117_popularity

Cultural activities or commercial products reflecting, suited to, or aimed at the tastes of the general masses of people.  One of the biggest aspects of this generation is a constant need to be contact with other people. However not be the usual means anymore.  Popular culture is now measure on the opinions of people rather than scientific research according the individual…

Romans 12:2King James Version (KJV)

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Dear girls of the world how many times each day are you told how to dress, how to look? Dear boys of the world how many times each day are we told that the bigger arms we have the better our life will be? Who is telling us such messages? Answer – The flesh and the devil…

1 John 2:16King James Version (KJV)

16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

Dare1 John 2:15-17King James Version (KJV)

15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

Lifestyle as a Christian.

SMMI have an honest question for all my readers. Can you name 5 people mentioned in the faith chapter??? How many of my readers can tell me what the last 5 minutes of their Twitter feed reads? How did you do on those very simple and honest questions?

I have become increasingly concerned over the mass appeal and influence social media has on our generation. I fear the more connected we become to the world the less connected we become to the Word of God.

I understand that we can’t avoid technology all together because it is apart of our daily life. However I do feel their needs to be a more educational understanding of the use of social media.  I’m happy and I don’t need chocolate to keep me happy. I also don’t need to tweet a picture of my hamburger to gain likes and internet traffic. We as TRUE children of God must not conform. We must be separated from the world…

1 John 2:15-17King James Version (KJV)

15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

17 And the world passeth away, anteens-on-phone-derevensky-article-1d the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

Website_Banner_VineAndBranchesJohn 15:5-8King James Version (KJV)

I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.

1 Thessalonians 5:23King James Version (KJV)

HD-Eagle-Wallpapers23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

If you wish to one of God’s true children, than we must learn what it means to be separated from  the world so that we as True Children of God can be unspootted from the world in order to called a child of God.

James 1:24-27King James Version (KJV)

english-school-medieval-girl-looking-into-a-mirror24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.

25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

26 If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man’s religion is vain.

27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

Scripture Seeds

Matthew 13:2-8King James Version (KJV)

the_parable_of_the_sower-1024x535And great multitudes were gathered together unto him, so that he went into a ship, and sat; and the whole multitude stood on the shore.

And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow;

And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up:

Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth:

And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away.

And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them:

But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold.

Psalm 119:11King James Version (KJV)

coffee11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.

Psalm 1:2King James Version (KJV)

But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

The more you feed your soul the word of God the stronger you can stand in Christ.

The more you read the word of God, the more God can make his face to shine upon you….  Only when we as Children of God can stay unspotted from the world.

Only than can we have the true joy of the Lord and that joy can be our strength.

Hebrews 1large2:1-2King James Version (KJV)

12 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

1 John 1:6-8King James Version (KJV)

If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
