Where is God Amidst The Chaos? An Open Letter To The Entire World! Op-Ed
By Anthony Sicilia
Hello People Of The World, tonight this blog post isn’t your run of the mill devotion. Tonight this blog post is being written to comfort the hearts of many people around the world. I’m Not a Pastor, Police Officer, Pop Icon , Politician or PostMan.
However I am concerned… I’m concerned that people have forgotten about their faith. What I have decided to do tonight is to write about what is happening in and around the world and in the process, I am hoping through the words you read on this page for yourself as an individual or as a group of friends we all could be strong and of courage. Because when celebrities are mad at the paparazzi they write about it in the newspaper so if it works for them, why not me right?
One thing I am fairly concerned about is the world’s definition of love. Of course year by year the definition of love changes according to films, romance novels and federal laws. However God’s love is defined a different way and even a simple child can understand it.
I have a question for all my readers. With the constant flow of evil. How does the world begin to love others the way God says to?
Luke 4:18-19King James Version (KJV)
18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
Does that sound like someone who wants to bring calamity to the inhabitants of the earth? The quick and the right answer is NO!
Listen I’m not going to pull any punches or try to sugarcoat anything. The year of 2016 has been a rather difficult one for more than a few countries and certainly a few more states. The reason I even decided to write an open letter to the free world is because I read a blog post this morning from a girl that follows my blog.
Her name is Rae and after reading her post, I couldn’t help but feel heartbroken. Heartbroken because this woman is questioning where is God in all the tragedy? Let me assure everyone here and now that God is not to blame for all the violence, crimes and terrible attacks that have occurred in the world over the past year.
I understand this a difficult time for many different people around the world. However I want to encourage everyone reading this letter tonight to remain strong. Hold fast to the love in your hearts. Help others in need. Take time to be kind each other each and everyday. The reason why is because the impact could transform a person’s life.
I know if you are a not a BELIEVER IN GOD than sometimes it is easier to blame God for things when they go wrong. However this way of thinking isn’t the way to approach life. I’m not writing this letter to start a faith debate. Debating with people is never a good way to start working together to heal the world’s wounds.
The year of 2016 has been a year of great sorrow and drama that even the best writers in Hollywood can’t even seem to script. Through the year of 2016, there have been attacks in Chicago, Istanbul, France, Germany and of course the constant wars in the Middle East.
2016 has been a year of great political change for countries like Canada, Cuba and yes even the the United States.
This past November America voted, let me repeat that, this past November America did vote. Like it or not America, the winner was President Elect Donald Trump. Some people from the left may disagree with his policies. However I can also assure everyone reading this article that not everybody is going to like everyone.
The reason is because as individuals we all have our own personalities. However America and The World must lay aside every weight and work together as a collaborative unit. That is the only way The United States will remain strong and regain the respect that it has worked so hard for to achieve. How can the country of America remain strong if evil words are being tossed at the incoming president?
Ephesians 4:29King James Version (KJV)
29 Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.
The one thing people shouldn’t is blame God for all the tragedies , violent crimes and terror attacks that happen around the globe. Instead of people turning away from God during times of violence perhaps it is a time for people to turn to God.
Jeremiah 29:13King James Version (KJV)
13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.
Sometimes it is easier for a non believer to blame God for everything for one reason only. If you are a believer in Christ one moment and blaming God for everything bad the next moment then I ask you all who read this letter to check your foundation of faith. I say this because it is written…
Matthew 13:3-8King James Version (KJV)
3 And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow;
4 And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up:
5 Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth:
6 And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away.
7 And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them:
8 But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold.
This Parable Explained….
Matthew 13:18-23King James Version (KJV)
18 Hear ye therefore the parable of the sower.
19 When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.
20 But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it;
21 Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended.
22 He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.
23 But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.
Remember folks, no one has ever loved you like Jesus….
Faint not but rather turn your hearts to God for he is always listening to those who truly seek him with all their heart and in this trying time the world needs God to heal the wounds of the broken hearted. Only God can do that. Only God can give sight to the blind, heal people of diverse diseases. The only thing we must do is ONLY BELIEVE!
Be not afraid, only turn your hearts to God and he will keep you from the trials that is to come upon the earth.
Revelation 3:9-11King James Version (KJV)
9 Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.
10 Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.
11 Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.
