Project Bible Day 35 Blessings In Disguise
Sometimes as human beings, we sometimes can’t always see true blessings in disguise. I would be the first one to admit that sometimes this type of faith is difficult, the only reason this kind of faith seems to be impossible at the time is because through every valley, we never see the whole picture. We only see life unfold one puzzle piece at a time. When we as people and believers in God and Christ finally step out of the valley of discouragement than we can say, “Ok God, how did this valley that I went into make me a better believer in you?
The Lord is so understanding with his children that he will reveal moments where the valley produced a good fruit
Matthew 7:16-19King James Version (KJV)
16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
through a divine trimming and purging of the branches of his Holy tree.
Trimming of the trees of life is good for all people no matter who they may be. A purging time is good for everyone to endure. The reason this is important is because it allows less of self to stand out and more of the Life of God to dwell within ourselves. Sometimes our biggest hindrances in life are ourselves.
How can this be? Simple… Psalms 23 confirms this….
Psalm 23King James Version (KJV)
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
We as Christians must realize when we walk with God sometimes we go into valleys but it’s important that when you go into a valley, cling to the heartbeat of God simply by being still and letting him speak to you….
When you’re in the valley the reason it important to cling to God is because He and He Only can direct you of the valley. When he directs you out of the valleys of your life if you ask God honestly he will tell you how those valleys made you better…The first valley of course was the death of my grandmother. God worked good of a painful and confusing situation. It got me to start reading his Word, It got me to start praying, it got me to searching for God. These things are all good and even though it’s 17 years, I count the moment dear because it was through my first valley that when I held the Word of God close to my heart. All things work together for the good that Love God.
When my mother was diagnosed with bowel cancer while I was in my second year of college, I knew sincere prayer would deliver her from any further sickness. For days, nights and hours I prayed that the sickness that everyone labels as cancer leave her body at once. She has been cancer free for 7 years and I believe it all happened because I took time to pray from my heart…. All things work together for the good that Love God.
Isaiah 53:5King James Version (KJV)
5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
When I was diagnosed with gluten intolerance in the fall of 2012. I didn’t know if I was ever going to be allowed to eat a bowl of spaghetti ever again and enjoy it. To an Italian not being able to enjoy pasta was devastating. I studied what I could eat and what not to eat it was a bit of a huge process because everything has wheat in it. Everything from bread, cookies, cakes , cereal, pizza and yes even pasta. I sought out professional help from Hollywood. The reason I did this because my doctors were always giving me the same piece of advice. Stay away from gluten it can kill you. Even though that was wise advice, there was no talk of a food substitute of course not until I came across Jennifer Esposito’s Gluten free bakery. Jennifer’s Way Bakery Again do you see the good that comes out of this trial and that trial. It took a year and a half and I am now happily healthy and gluten intolerance is now just a distant memory. The diet made me take stock of how to eat well and better especially college. . All things work together for the good that Love God.
When I received a apartment I never wanted it caused a bunch of chaos. So even nearly everyone I knew distanced themselves from me. I am grateful because the glory of God could be revealed in my life simply because I cried out to God more. I leaned totally on Him for everything. From the worldly perspective, it may have looked like I was alone, but God never abandoned me for that I will give him great praise. I can give him great praise from the heart because he is the supplier of all my needs. When I was facing financial difficulty wondering when I was going to eat my next meal. God supplied me with food from community supports. When I didn’t have the tithe to give him, I prayed and the tithe arrived in the mail. When I was suffering in sickness God was there to remove all sickness and disease. God was there. God was there , God was there. Again I say without doubt that All things work together for the good that Love God.
Philippians 4:19King James Version (KJV)
19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
One of the biggest blessings in disguise I failed to realize while in the valley of discouragement is
Romans 5:3-5King James Version (KJV)
3 And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;
4 And patience, experience; and experience, hope:
5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
So the next time you see the valley of discouragement and despair coming your way, fear not, instead of running away from it much like the prophet Elijah ran into the desert when he heard that Jezebel wanted to kill him. Instead be like Peter and amidst the storm you can walk the waters in faith. It takes faith to get this great work done. Do you have that kind of faith. Will you let your test be a testimony for others? Will you walk the waters in faith? Will you have have the courage to stand on the rock which is Christ Jesus and say to valley of discouragement All things work together for the good that Love God?
